EASTBOUND · MANIFESTO

Manifesto

EastBound is a Drum & Bass collective built in South Africa — a resident roster, two-way bookings, and a standing invitation to anyone serious about 174 BPM.

01 / Origin

Why we built this

EastBound started as GG's concept — six months in the making — and was founded in August 2025 with Keedz and Taine (Debug). Three founders, one platform, one standard.

The reason: the South African Drum & Bass scene needed a home that took itself seriously — proper sound, proper bookings, proper crowds. Not a side-room at a multi-genre festival, not a two-hour graveyard slot at someone else's club night. A whole night, end-to-end, dedicated to the music.

The launch run was six shows across two cities. Inception (23 Aug 2025), Halloween (31 Oct), 360 (21 Nov) and New Year's Eve (31 Dec) in Gauteng, then across provincial lines into Cape Town for the Club Paradise debut and a Secret Show at Trenchtown. In 2026 the founding trio of GG, Keedz and Debug opened the room: Neptune first, then Trifekta.

02 / Sound

174 — and everything around it

“Heavy when it needs to be. Patient when it pays to be. Always loud.”

Our residents move between jump up, neuro, jungle, deep rollers, 140 and grime. We don't police genre lines — we book taste. The brief is energy across a four-hour set: tension, release, restraint, payoff. The kind of night where you don't check your phone.

03 / Standard

Things we won't compromise

  • 01 · SoundSub-floor systems, properly tuned. No box-on-stand "PAs" pretending to be rigs.
  • 02 · BookingTalent that pushes the room, not just the algorithm.
  • 03 · ProductionLighting and stage that move with the music — not a static wash.
  • 04 · DoorFast, fair, friendly. Your QR works the first time, every time.
  • 05 · AftercarePhotos and recap up within the week. Magic links to your tickets so nothing goes missing.

04 / Roadmap

Where this goes

More residents, more cities, international guests booked on artistic fit, not follower count. A second rig, a mix archive, a yearly outdoor production. We're not in a rush — we're building this for ten years, not ten weekends.
